A Day of Adventure

A sense of adventure in dining is not something I am known for.

For instance …… eating out.  My choice for the meal depends on the restaurant.

I will order what I have always ordered when I’m in that particular eatery.

I don’t want  anything different  because I know I liked what I ordered before.

Makes sense to me!

I don’t want to take a chance I will not like it and go away hungry and feeling like I wasted my money.

I know it’s weird….. and a little boring!!

Hold on ……… It’s a new day.

I woke up today with a sense of eating adventure.

Today was the day I went to Panera Bread and did not order the usual ……half Napa Almond Chicken Salad

on Sesame Semolina bread sandwich

and …….

half bowl of  Vegetarian Creamy Tomato soup topped with croutons.

 and…… a bag of chips.

I ignored that nagging voice telling me how much I enjoyed my usual choice and heard myself order

Presto Sacchettini with a side classic salad.

(still got the bag of chips..knew I liked those)office 018

I actually said  I will have the first Pasta listed on the menu”..  my non – Italian heritage is not sure of the

correct pronunciation of the pasta dish I ordered.

In spite of not knowing how to pronounce this pasta dish, I thoroughly enjoyed my new eating adventure.

I would order it again or even try pasta #2 on the menu board.

My sense of adventure then moved me to to take pictures of my next project.

My office/craft room/ art gallery/staging/catch all  room……… is a huge mountain to climb.

For today ……before pictures only. …..  soon there will be after pictures.

A Cottage on the Square (part 3)

Hello readers….  Where has the week gone?    Wednesday is here?

What is going on in your busy week?

I hope you have been more productive than I have been.

I have been fluffing up the guest room and things aren’t falling into place.

I brought home beautiful comforters for the twin beds from Marshall’s.

They just didn’t work for me  (see pic) ….  so a return trip today. And the search continues.

In my heart, I knew it wasn’t the right comforter. I was tired and was hoping… sigh

2013 Graduates / Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day!!!

Memorial Day 2013 021

How easy it is to take for granted the blessings we enjoy each and every day because of the sacrifice of others.

We are never so  independent that someone hasn’t  given up something to help us along in life.

It may take a few years of life’s experiences to appreciate, honor and respect that family,

friends, and strangers are  a part of our accomplishments.

Acknowledging we didn’t do it alone, leads to feelings of gratitude and appreciation.

That frees us to pass it on or play it forward.

We attended four graduations in May of four awesome and  focused young ladies in our family.

Showing appreciation for their higher education opportunities , all graduated with high honors.

Yahoo!! How proud we are!

The twin, Tris and Tay,  graduated the first part of May. Both earned degrees in Psychology.

They  interned in child advocacy and plan to continue their education.Taylor Grad

We attended two graduations last week  in Las Vegas. Mother and daughter graduated with high honors.

Melissa graduated in art studies and Candace in paralegal studies. So proud of both!

Candace will be starting back to school in the fall. She has been working with the Public Defender’s office and may have found her calling.

Our plans for today….. take me out to the ballgame …. a hotdog and maybe peanuts…

Whatever you do today …  acknowledge those who have played a role in making  your life safer, richer, fuller, sweeter… and play it forward.

Thank you God for all your blessings toward our country.

Thank you to all  who sacrificed to keep our God given freedoms intact.
