Thursday Ramblings

Spring sent us a teaser for a few days.

Temperature’s have even hit the 70 mark.

These little guys are popping up in my yard.

And the tulip tree is blooming.

Go away old man winter and don’t come back this year.

This good weather made it easier to get my dad back home.

He has been in rehab all year and is now doing well enough to go back home.

He enjoyed his remote control bed in rehab.

He is now enjoying one at home

Before we left rehab, I had to snap this picture of The Valentine King . They were having a belated

Valentine’s party because of the bad weather the week of Valentine’s day.

Mr.. Valentine King is a friend of my dad. They have known each other for years.

They met up again at rehab.

Isn’t he adorable.

Dad’s carport didn’t survive the winter storm. Luckily, his car was at my sister’s house.

Carport had to be hauled away.

First hike of the year to Bridal Veil Falls.

Cozy and Casual Master Bedrooms

Cozy and Casual bedrooms are comfortable, homey and inviting.

Creating a C & C room begins with combining basic elements.

  • simple details, not much fussiness
  • soft upholstery
  • restful horizontal line
  • low luster surfaces

Furniture is comfortable and  soft. Upholstered pieces are oversized or slipcovered.

Many pieces of upholstered furniture is covered in neutral colors such as white, off white,

gray or beige.

Fabrics on pillows and furniture are usually textured..

We love his experiments (I think)

So how was your valentine’s day?  Want to hear about mine?

Sure you do.

We celebrated a day later because of obligations on Valentine’s Day.

But good things come to those who wait.

And was it good….over the top good…. good and more good.

ok enough already.  Let’s get to it.

Is anything more romantic for us ladies than having a

Valentines day dinner prepared for us at home by the  in house chef?…

(our husbands)

Mr. Finely Done enjoys cooking . I don’t mean ordinary everyday cooking….

That’s what I do. (Bor- ing)

His creative meals are much more elaborate. When he suggested that he prepare

a dinner at home to celebrate Valentine’s Day…. I was all in.

Anytime I don’t have to wait in a crowed restaurant or cook the meal, I won’t be complaining.

Don’t even mine doing the dishes.

I am not territorial about the kitchen at all. I am perfectly content to decorate the

table or lend a hand when he needs help  in the kitchen, which is very rare.

He is organize and detailed when he’s preparing the meal and everything

is done perfectly on time, not too soon and not too late..

And to add to the fun, I texted an invite to our  go-to-for-a-food-adventure couple.

The reply Sure, we love his experiments,” and an added “I THINK.”

The theme ……Portuguese ……..…. for no particular reason at all than he is traveling to these

countries……… by food…..much cheaper than buying airline tickets.

Come fly with me as I give a recap of the meal.
