One of my all time favorite movies is “Groundhog Day.” I have watched it numerous times.
Even though part of the movie was filmed in Pennsylvania, the location for most of the shooting
of Groundhog Day was Woodstock, Illinois. And the charming inn, The Cherry Street Inn, where
Bill Murray’s character, Phil Connors, stayed in the movie is Royal Victorian Manor, a B&B.
This Victorian beauty was built in 1894 by Judge C.P. Barnes, a McHenry County judge.
The house was occupied by the judge and his wife and two children until 1914.
The current owners have given the Manor a facelift, to bring back her former glory and adding a modern twist.
The inside has been totally renovated and has all modern conveniences.
Royal Victorian Manor has 8 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms.
The current innkeepers recently put the Royal Victorian Manor up for sale.
It can easily be returned to a single family home as it once was.
It is listed for $985,000.
Where are you Phil Connors? Wouldn’t you like to buy Cherry Street Inn and wake up there
again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again?
Sigh……………….. I love Groundhog Day and The Cherry Street Inn.
