Mar’s Five Star Thanksgiving Dressing/ gravy

Make cornbread first

Ingredients for cornbread

  • I cup self rising cornmeal mix
  • I cup self rising flour
  • I egg beaten
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 3 Tablespoons vegetable oil

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease round pan

2. Combine cornmeal and flour.

3. Add milk and beaten egg and stir in oil. Mix well.

4. Cook 20 to 25 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Allow to cool

Cornbread Dressing

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tablespoon grated onion
  • 1 c bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon sage
  • 1 (13) ounce cans cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (13) ounces water
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • cooked cornbread

1. Crumble cooled cornbread in a 9 x 13 baking pan.

2. Add onion, sage, bread crumbs, cream of chicken soup, water and broth

3. Bake @ 350 for 20 to 25 minutes or until brown on top.

Gravy

  • 1 (13) ounces cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (13) ounces water
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 3 hard boiled eggs

1. Combine cream of chicken soup,water and chicken broth on stovetop.

2. Add diced boiled eggs

3. Heat on low to medium until smooth

4. Serve over dressing.
