Five Easiest Super Bowl Snacks Ever

Two days away from Super Bowl Sunday……you know that little  annual championship game of the National Football League .

Since 1967, when the first game was played, it frequently has been the most watched American television broadcast of the year.


And in addition to the  enjoyment of the game…. and the entertainment of halftime shows….. and the commercials…

Super bowl is really all about the food. Game day is second only to Thanksgiving in food consumption.


Although we are usually guests and not the hosts at the Super Bowl party, I take a tray or two of finger food snacks to add to the  party table.


I scoured the Food Network, and found easy, peasy Super Bowl snacks and finger food recipes.




Chesapeake Snack Mix

  • Toss 5 cups potato chips,
  • 2 cups each oyster crackers, fish-shaped cheese crackers and pretzel sticks,
  • 1/2 stick melted butter and 1 tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F, 25 minutes, stirring once.


Buttery Herbed Nuts Mix

  •  Mix 3 tablespoons melted butter with 1 tablespoon each minced parsley,
  • sage, rosemary and thyme, and 2 teaspoons salt.
  • Toss with 3 cups unsalted mixed nuts.
  • Bake at 325 degrees F, 25 minutes, stirring once.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

  • Mix 4 ounces softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup each sour cream and Frank’s RedHot sauce (or 1/4 cup other hot sauce)
  • fold in 2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken. Spread in a small baking dish, sprinkle with celery seeds, chopped scallions
  • and shredded cheddar and bake at 425 degrees F until bubbly, about 20 minutes.
  • Top with crumbled blue cheese. Serve with celery and carrot sticks and crackers.

Reeces Squares

1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 lb confectioners’ sugar (3 to 3 1/2 cups)
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
1 cup butter, melted
1 (12 ounce) bag milk chocolate chips


  • Combine graham crumbs, sugar and peanut butter and mix well.
  • Blend in melted butter until well combined.
  • Press mixture evenly into a 9 x 13 inch pan.
  • Melt chocolate chips in microwave or in double boiler.
  • Spread over peanut butter mixture.
  • Chill until just set and cut into bars (these are very hard to cut if the chocolate gets “rock hard”.

Mile High Marshmellow Squares

12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
11 ounces butterscotch chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
16 ounces miniature marshmallows
1 cup dry roasted peanuts



  • In a large microwave safe bowl, melt chips, and peanut butter together for 2 minutes.
  • Stir.
  • Microwave additional 10-20 second interval’s until smooth.
  • Cool for 1 minute.
  • Stir in marshmallows and peanuts.
  • Spread into a foil-lined 9×13 inch baking pan.
  • Refrigerate until firm
