Once upon a time there was a little cottage that needed a pretty, while comfortable, guest bedroom. Also in a home a few hours a way, the guest bedroom looked lonely and abandoned. The pieces in the room were hodgepodge items. lacking in style and /or comfort.
This tale of woe ended when the fairy godmother appeared, waved her magic wand, and voila …….two beautiful, comfortable guest bedrooms appeared,
I wished…,,,,,,,,,but, it didn’t happened exactly that way. It is a thoughtful process to put any room together. And a guest bedroom is a room that requires thoughts of how it will look and function for your guests.
This is how the guest bedroom looked at the cottage before we bought the house.
With three windows, the room has a lot of light coming in especially after it was painted a lighter color……..Sherwin Williams Basalt Powder.
This traditional cottage is a temporary abode…….and decorating on a budget is the only way to go.
But hey……….I like a challenge don’t you?
What does a guest room need? Number one on the list is a nice comfortable bed.
This one fits the bill.
This comforter was the starting point. A bed, bath and beyond find at an incredible price.
The theme for the room is Restful Organic. The blue/grey comforter is perfect for a quiet relaxing room.
The pattern on the bedding adds interest to the otherwise neutral, restful room.
A guest bedroom needs a chair. This occasional chair is small enough to also serve as a desk chair.
You will see I also have a clock in the room although most folks use their cell phones these days to keep track of time.
Clocks are my thing.
And a luggage rack next to the desk is a convenience instead of putting the suitcase on the bed.
One of the nightstands has space for towels, washcloths etc. The bathroom is seriously lacking in storage space.
Now lets add more organic to this organic, restful bedroom.
And this organic, restful cottage bedroom lived happily ever after ……….with or without a decorating redo in it’s future. (wink, wink)
